Privacy Policy
How UnknwnAI Ltd collects, uses and protects your personal data when you visit this website or get in touch with us. We keep this in plain English — no legal maze.
01Who we are
UnknwnAI Ltd ("UnknwnAI", "we", "us", "our") is an AI software company registered in the United Kingdom, with its registered office at Suite G05, Regus, Malthouse Avenue, Cardiff Gate Business Park, Cardiff CF23 8RU, United Kingdom.
For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, we are the data controller of personal data collected through this website (unknwnai.com).
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at team@unknwnai.com.
02The data we collect
Data you give us directly
When you fill in our contact form, leave your details with our chat assistant, email us, or call us, we collect what you choose to share — typically:
- Your name and email address
- Your company name and role, if you provide them
- Your phone number, if you provide it
- The content of your message or enquiry
Data collected automatically
We use Vercel Analytics to understand how the site is used — page views, referrers, approximate location (country/region level), device type and browser. This data is aggregated and anonymised; it does not use cookies and is not used to identify or profile you.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) also processes standard server logs — including IP addresses — as a technical necessity of serving the website securely.
What we don't collect
We don't collect special category data through this website, we don't buy data about you from third parties, and we don't run advertising trackers.
03How we use your data
We only use your personal data where the law allows us to. In practice, that means:
| Purpose | Data used | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|
| Responding to enquiries | Name, contact details, message content | Legitimate interests — responding to a request you made; or steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract |
| Delivering our services | Contact and engagement details | Performance of a contract with you or your organisation |
| Improving the website | Aggregated, anonymised analytics | Legitimate interests — understanding how the site is used |
| Legal compliance | Records we're required to keep | Legal obligation |
We will not send you marketing emails unless you have asked us to, and we never sell your personal data to anyone.
06International transfers
Some of our providers (such as Vercel and Resend) are based in, or process data in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK law — such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, UK adequacy regulations, or equivalent contractual protections — so your data receives an essentially equivalent standard of protection.
07How long we keep data
- Enquiries — kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and for up to 24 months afterwards, in case you come back to us.
- Client records — kept for the duration of the engagement and for up to 6 years afterwards, in line with UK contractual limitation periods and tax rules.
- Analytics — aggregated and anonymised, so it does not identify you and is not subject to deletion timelines for personal data.
When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
08How we protect data
We take security seriously — it's part of what we do for a living. Measures include encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) across the entire site, access to personal data restricted to the people who need it, reputable infrastructure providers with strong security certifications, and internal practices aligned with UK data-protection requirements. Our healthtech work is built to NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT) standards.
No system is ever perfectly secure, but if a breach affecting your data were to occur, we would notify you and the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) where required by law.
09Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your data.
- Portability — receive your data in a portable format.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to any direct marketing at any time.
- Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email team@unknwnai.com. We'll respond within one month. There's no fee unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK regulator: the Information Commissioner's Office — ico.org.uk · 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve it with you first.
10Children
This website is aimed at businesses and professionals, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 through this website. Where our healthcare products involve children's data, that data is handled under separate, stricter agreements with the responsible healthcare organisations — never through this website.
11Third-party links
This website may link to third-party websites (for example, our social profiles). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites — check their own privacy policies before sharing data with them.
12Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time as the website, our services or the law changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will always tell you when it last changed. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
